Praying For Keeps “Virtual Reality” Blog #1

The majority of our conversations are surface level conversations. Rarely do we break through the surface to discuss the real and the raw, the deep issues in life. We put floaties on and cling to the edge of the pool in shallow water. However, our Heavenly Father is saying, “Come out into the deep end with Me”. Yet we dismiss Him and stay within our comfort zones. Well, it’s time for a vertical reality check, because the Bible says from Genesis to Revelation that God deeply desires to have two-way conversations with us. Thus, virtual reality is transparency before God.

Praying For Keeps “Prayer Conditioning” Blog #3

Many people are timid about prayer because they don’t know how to pray. Thus, I recommend adopting the P.R.A.Y. method. Each letter represents a crucial aspect of prayer: praise, repent, ask, and yield.
We should begin our prayers by praising God. Praise is expressing our love and adoration to the Lord. It is concentrating on His character attributes. For example, maybe this week you have felt impressed to praise God’s almighty power, His omnipotence. Say, “God, thank You for Your show of power in my situation at work”. Another part of praise is thanksgiving. One day Jesus came across ten lepers who stood at a distance and called out to Him for mercy.

Juicy Fruit “Faithfulness” Blog

Although the Holy Spirit guides us and reminds us of God’s faithfulness, we still must put forth great effort in every area of our lives. We are constantly tested in three places. First, God tests us with time. We all have a certain amount of time allotted us as a gift from a Holy God. He wants us to become great stewards of the minutes He has entrusted to us. How are you doing with your time? A lot of us need to simplify, to downsize in order to fulfill God’s plan and purpose. Believers, if you do not give Jesus Christ some serious moments every day, there is no way to accomplish what God desires for you to do. The more you elbow Him out and compartmentalize time spent with Him, the busier, and busier you will become, until your life starts spinning out of control. Yet, if you spend time with Jesus the first moments of every day, He will multiply your time. Time is a test of faith.

Meet JEHOVA, the great “I AM”. For you statisticians, the name JEHOVA appears 6,800 times in Scripture. In Exodus 3, Moses unsuccessfully attempts to bargain with God. You see, God had just tasked him to return to Egypt and confront Pharaoh regarding the enslaved Israelites. First he refused, “No, not me Lord!” God said, “Hey, Moses, I am with you all the way. Once My people are free from bondage, you all will throw a heavenly Hebrew hoedown and worship Me on this mountain”. Moses responds in verse 13: “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your father’s has sent me to you’, and they ask me, ‘What is His name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” Nice try Moses! Again, he tries to back pedal by whining about his credibility with the Israelites. In verse 14, “God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent to you’.” God needs no further introduction then “I AM”! How incredible is He?
